The US will go down in history as a society where a third openly celebrated cruelty and intolerance, eagerly embraced propaganda that supported their petty resentments and prejudices, and rejected science and objective reality. It needs to be more than a dark historical footnote - it needs to be be a lesson in how *not* to develop your society.
