According to Fox News Pete Hegseth’s firing of Navy Secretary John Phelan was a result of Phelan refusing to comply with Hegseth’s order to defy a ruling by a federal court strip retired NAVY Captain Senator Mark Kelly of his rank.
After Hegseth’s attempt to charge Senator Kelly and four others with seditious conspiracy for making a video reminding our troops of the duty not to follow illegal orders failed when a grand jury refused to indict them, Hegseth attempted to strip Senator Kelly of his rank.
US District Judge Richard Leon blocked the move by the so-called Secretary of War and wrote in his ruling that Hegseth had unconstitutionally retaliated against Kelly in seeking to demote the retired Navy captain.
Judge Leon wrote "This Court has all it needs to conclude that Defendants have trampled on Senator Kelly's First Amendment freedoms and threatened the constitutional liberties of millions of military retirees. To say the least, our retired veterans deserve more respect from their Government, and our Constitution demands they receive it!"
Hegseth is a disgrace to our nation and we are certainly no fans of John Phelan, but it’s absolutely pathetic that a civilian MAGA sycophant like Phelan has more respect for our veterans, the rule of law, and our Constitution than the Secretary of Defense.
